Kahn Artist Filmworks is an independent film production company based in Studio City, CA. The main goal is to create works confluent with universal human truths that touch the heart, and feed the soul. You can check out our current projects here.

We are constantly expanding our network of collaborators...and seeking likeminded artists to work with. Our group was founded by Steve Kahn (actor/director/writer) and Katy Dolle (actress/producer). We believe in telling deeply human stories with artistic integrity, and of course entertainment above all else.

Steve Kahn: Director, Writer, Actor
Steve Kahn was born and raised in Southern California and fell in love with theatre by his pre-teens after falling into an acting group at a local 250 seat community theatre and performing in up to three plays and musicals a year. His love quickly turned to writing and filmmaking and as a teen played by producing several small films as well as writing screenplays, studying photography, music, and classical vocal training.

Accelerated artistic growth came while he attended the prestigious Sanford Meisner Center for the Arts where he graduated the two-year acting program with honors. He finds himself privileged to be able to call The Meisner Center’s Martin Barter and UCLA screenwriting professor Richard Walter teachers and uses their principles, lessons, and quotes on a daily basis.

After continued acting on the stage, at the HBO workspace and Egyptian amongst others, TV work that included a Jake Kasdan’s “Zero Effect” pilot and several short films and independents, he realized acting alone still didn’t satisfy his artistic desire or his need for total control of the entire process.

In response to this desire, he wrote award winning spec. scripts, landed a literary agent and co-wrote shorts that were produced for the mobile phone market. He then went on to produce the short film “daños del amor” in which he also wrote, directed and starred. This film has received rave reviews from an Oscar winning screenwriter, several TV showrunners, and notable producers, writers, actors, and critics.

Steve’s short film, “daños del amor”, shares elements with his feature length action/comedy, NINJA ZOMBIES that is presently being adapted into a graphic novel by “War of the Worlds” & “Beowulf” author Stephen Stern. “Ninja Zombies” is a property in the vein of “Shaun of the Dead”.

Alongside Katy Dolle, Steve formed Kahn Artist Filmworks as a production company to forward their shared vision. They went on to produce the webseries “Killer Chihuahua!” which was loosely based on the genesis of their relationship and the evil Chihuahua that came between them.

Steve’s most recent work was his novel, “Death Wave”, which was motivated by the recent political and economic distress. It is the story of an ordinary man who much overcome his fear to tackle extraordinary problems in an epic end of the world story in the vein of “Children of Men”. “Death Wave” is currently being adapted into a major motion picture screenplay.

Katy Dolle: actress / producer

Katy Dolle is a California native raised in Los Angeles. As soon as she could pick up a pen, she was writing poetry, and as soon as she discovered the stage, she began acting. From a very young age she was drawn to the performing arts, attending various theater camps and putting on shows for her family. She spent five summers at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in the catskills of New York. Finally during high school, she launched her professional acting career. Katy got her big break in a national Sylvan Learning Center Commercial, followed by her co-starring role on The District with Craig T. Nelson.

In order to hone her craft, she ventured to the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts. While in New York, she studied at both the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Stonestreet Film and TV Studios. She took the opportunity to study and perform Shakespeare, classical, and contemporary works in the theater. The NYU Film Program proved to be a unique training ground, as she collaborated with student filmmakers on many different film projects. Katy finished her BFA in Drama in an unprecedented 3 years, and then moved back to L.A. to kick start her career.

Since returning to Los Angeles, Katy has appeared in Ghost Whisperer, 90210, and Everybody Hates Chris. She has also produced and starred in the hit web series, Killer Chihuahua!...with Steve Kahn writing, directing, and editing. Together they began Kahn Artist Filmworks to make even more projects together.

Katy is now a producer, taking her career in her own hands and taking Hollywood by storm. Her current projects in development include: Ninja Zombies, a feature film and graphic novel, and a new web series in development as well.
