It goes against our modern new age interpretation of what Love is but Love, in fact, can be (and many times has been) used for an evil end.

In LOVE must be tempered with moderation there we dissected a Gandhi quote:

“The more efficient a force is, the more silent and the more subtle it is. Love is the subtlest force in the world.” Gandhi

and came up with these two interpretations for Love:

  1. Love is a force that we can use.
  2. Love is the most subtle and strongest force there is.

Gandhi also goes in the face of the new age concept that the more love the better. But, instead calls it a force. Not a God,

From our common knowledge of the nature of forces we know that any force must be moderated for good use.

Since,

Love =  the subtlest force in the world

or to simplify,

Love = a force

And since,

Every force must be moderated for the force to be good.

Then,

Love must be moderated for it to be a good force

(or for it to be a force for good).

Common knowledge is a very dangerous thing.  You did not need to write out the if=thens because by definition a subtle force is a moderated one.  By its very subtle nature it by definition does not require modulation.

Love that needs modulation is love that has been tainted by other feelings: insecurity; power and domination; archetypical constructs.  It is the other forces that must be modulated and not the love.  If you love someone, that love is contained within you.  While you have it, it can not be imposed on someone against their will, nor can it be taken away by them if they leave.   It can make you radiant.  Love can only make you very confused or angry if you let the other feelings loose and let them muddle and muck up your life by trying to change it from a subtle empowering force into something that it is not.  It is the other feelings that need to be modulated.  Not the love.

That is a contradiction. A force needs moderation, subtle or not.

I understand you feel I don't need the If/Then's but they serve as a simple proof to clarify and not confuse.

But, love, not moderated has been the cause of great distress and calamity thought time. When countries go to war do the soldiers not love their cause, their country, their people? One side may have a greater justice on their side but do they not both fight for the love of their homeland?

Also, do we not make many mistakes by following a love that is not moderated? Love is not God but when you speak of it you talk of it as such. As I mentioned in this post there seems to be a confusing of the two

Are you talking about love being used for evil in a case of murder/suicide?  The mother who drown her three children so her ex-husband wouldn't get them in the custody battle? The love of young girls by a pervert?  Can you get into more detail of how love being used for evil?
